i have just declined an offer for L64 non-tech at microsoft, after all negotiation, this is what I got. base $168K, stock $50K vests over 1 year, sign-on $30K. this does not align at all with what i have seen on here, even for non-engineering. hiring manager and recruiter are insisting this is the max and that no way to go up.
What’s your yoe?
Have 15 years of experience unrelated, 3 with McKinsey. I am a consultant yes. I also have another offer, they are aware. Unfortunately I had to walk, I really had my hopes up for this one, I thought it would have been a great fit with the team and job. They are insisting can’t get to $300 at 64
Yeah. High tc here is for swe.
Rofl
Microsoft pays shit
That's awful, especially given the years of experience and the McKinsey background.
This is very high for non tech
I mean technically this is $248K for the first year so almost to $300K 😅
Wow I thought McKinsey command more respect than this shit TC. Are you management consultant btw? L64 should get $300k TC for engineers for a good offer. But for real, did you have another offer? Microsoft SOP is to low-ball you. You gotta bluff by saying you're gonna walk.
