After recent earnings Google stock dropped about 9%. After recent MSFT earnings, stock rose by 5%. Was the Google drop due to they spending a lot on AI and their search queries (via BARD) are now using lot of compute and processing which eats their profit? This is where Satya challenged them earlier this year. Is this correct? Can someone please shed some light? Tc: 160k 5 yoe #AI #BING #BARD #OPENAI #MSFT #GOOGL
There are a lot of news about why Goog dropped after earning... No need to guess, just see what wall street says - because Google cloud is not performing good enough.
GCP had a revenue miss. That’s it
First how about some grammar. Second spending does not cause a drop in stock. Not when they have billions in cash.
Microsoft only has upside with AÍ because their search only has upside. Google has downside because they have their established search business to cut in to.
Largely because the biggest issue with their advertising biz (their cash cow) is not within Google's control. Advertising market is down overall and Google can't spend their way out of it. If they hit on their cloud numbers, investors might have shrugged.

MSFT stock grew 210% in last 5 years. While GOOGL only grew 128% in last 5 years MSFT market cap is 2.45Trillion GOOGL is 1.54T We’re already ahead 🚀
Dec14th is the next dividend date for MS. It is going to be about 1%. That helps people hold on the stocks. Also, MS reports are showing reduction on the bottom line, while Google is not.
How much Google committed to buybacks vs MSFT pledge? Both are overpriced compared to fixed income investments right now so ability to buyback is only way to keep the price afloat.
Microsoft rose and Google dropped because Microsoft is perceived as more of a leader in AI, people are shifting toward Azure over Google hosting. I would rather host AI projects on Azure because Microsoft feels like they have a better AI plan, and at the end of the day, LLMs compete against search so why would you entrust your precious AI hen inside a house of the search wolves? The past 20 years Google has made its fortunes gobbling up other people’s revenues whenever anyone has success on the web.
Thank you. What do you mean "LLM compete against search" ? Both msft and Google spend a lot on search
Microsoft better AI 😂😂 Microsoft really did a good job marketing their non-existent AI capabilities. Microsoft without OpenAI is basically like a company with no AI division
