I’ve work for my current company for 3 years now and recently my old manager retired and everyone got assigned a new team. I got assigned to a manager who just got promoted to vp. I haven been traveling every week for the last two years and have never had a problem with my expense. This new manager approved months of receipts. She would wait to approve a months of expense all at once or write an email to ask where I ate or something stupid and then when I reply she will wait another month. all of a sudden told me I needed receipts for Starbucks coffee of 3.72. I’ve always follow the policy and it doesn’t require any receipts under 25 and charged it to corporate card. She wanted me to retro this back to the month of expense report I already submitted and she’s been sitting on. Since I didn’t keep it as it was not travel policy and it was in the past. I just ended taking it out and paid for it myself and resubmitted. Then she decline my report “concern about me not eating food.” I asked for a one time exception to this rule and she said no. I have lots of other expense such as hotel, flights and etc that I need her to approve on the same reports. Due to her sitting on my reports, the bank charged me a late fee in the past and I got it waived once but I don’t want this to affect my credit. She’s also doing some toxic stuff (assigning mangers to her directs that are not officially their manager in the system, since “she has too much directs”) Now, everyone is reporting to two manager in her team off the books. She’s lied to me a few times already. Can someone give me some advice? This is my first job after college. Can you advise on how to get her to just approve it so I don’t have 10k in credit card charges. They honestly don’t pay me enough for me to pay this bill myself. Tc:90k Yoe:3
