I think times like these show to not apply to companies based on only hype and TC promises but also plans for growth, and clear understanding of business strategy if goal is to stay for 3-5+ years when receiving an offer. From Disney so TC is 🥜 and we have plans for layoffs ourselves but I think the point is a collective two cents from people laid off and those currently safe. Seeing many LinkedIn posts about layoffs from what I believe to be risky not well thought out businesses (web3/crypto, etc) Research business plan, how many employees, hiring growth, stock value (short/long term), anything involving company + money, research it. If your company movements is too risky - leave. Twitter employees had a 5 month head start from when Elon committed to purchasing to the November layoffs. Sounds obvious I know but understanding your 9-5 is part of financial literacy. Saving is obvious but people ain't saving. TC: 190k #severance #layoff #jobs #hiring #offer
Just added.
Tell me more about these planned layoffs at Disney
They ain't telling us sh*t. We are getting company updates directly from MSM first actually.
This is sound advice OP. A cursory look at their balance sheet should offer pretty good insight. Lots of cash = probably safe. Look at Apple, for instance
To be fair most people didn’t expect Elon to f*ck it up this royally. People still think he was a genius with his only flaw being too loose of a mouth back then.
I think Elon's main fault in this though was how he handled the layoffs however Twitter was definitely hemorrhaging money and it got expedited with the interest rate hike.
A lot of people joined these companies because the companies were doing great from free money and pandemic induced boom. Not sure how much you can anticipate how much it was going to retract.
