Crossed a line with my boss
I am a TPM and work for Amazon. For the last two weeks my manager started to send his feedbacks as email after we meet. Those are not so positive ones and targets me to areas that I need to improve. And he constantly says that others also give him such negative feedbacks about me. Am I on focus/PIP? Should I ask him? UPDATE: I’ve asked him if I’m in Focus, he responded Yes. He listed the improvement areas. I will ask how he’s gonna measure my improvement and what his metrics will be. One commenter (thank you btw) said “an assignment of 45 days”, did not get it yet. Though I’m not sure, since I work as TPM. Thank you everyone for your valuable input. I will try to do my best and also start to look for jobs. The sad thing is I’ve started here 8 months ago. It’s a bit confusing cause mostly caused by the friction between me and sdm. He mentioned role definitions, role expectations and being more vocal etc
If your manager is not being clear about expectations and action items, aka them for key goals and deliverables for next month. Start aligning on weekly priorities. Start sharing frequent visibility into your accomplishments and show bias for action on key deliverables. Keep documenting all the things you are doing and how you are doing them.
Start interviewing. I say that as someone who beat a Pivot… just leave.
