I joined Oracle recently and my manager assigns extra tasks that was not mentioned in the sprint planning. This task doesn't even have a story, it is just email or some slack message type of thing. I made a mistake in one of my 1vs1s, I mentioned about aiming for promotion and stuff. I didn't wanted to look like just scraping by at the time, so shown some ambition lol. But I never thought getting promoted means you do extra work out of nowhere. in my prev companies, promotion happens when you are delivering the tasks on time with high quality and performing at the next level for a few months, this does not mean doing extra work. (it can mean you just get assigned to more impactful tasks not MORE TASKS) Did I just drag myself into this mess? Is it just Oracle or am I being lazy? maybe I don't have what it takes to survive in this shitshow? I am new to the team and only getting comfortable with the tech stack and the tasks. Now I gotta do the sprint task and try to finish this unmentioned tasks as well. end of rant TC: 270 #QuietQuitting
OP is Indian I bet. Your manager's at fault here. Is he/she Indian also?
Create a task, turn it into a story. Add it to the sprint.
Maybe I should and add 0.5 points to it lol
