Manager changed 1:1 from tomorrow to today within an hour’s notice. First time this has happened, feel like he is going to put me on focus. UPDATE: it was a schedule change 😅 L8 leadership spoke to layoffs today and didn’t dismiss it, which means he didn’t deny it. I expect Pips and layoffs soon. #amazon

It’s step 1 in the Focus Manual. Sorry mate, happens
Really?!
ok
Don’t worry tech won’t get impact too much
The pip quota will always be there
That's a different culture for sure, our meetings 1:1 get changed frequently, and in most places I've worked
This. They move around regularly.
I have 1:1s weekly and i literally cant remember the last time i had a 1:1 at the actual scheduled time. They always get rescheduled.
Dev plan? There might be some new structure based on the 10k layoff plan.
Layoff are different. Determine how many, and from where. Make a list. (Have legal sign off the list was done based on fair and non-discriminatory criteria). Tell the people on the list. Done. No Focus, no PIP, etc., for layoff. It runs by a different set of labor laws since it a group reduction (for business and economic drivers); rather than termination for poor performance (I.e., URA) that is individually targeted.
Which org?
Hope it's just because something came up for him tomorrow and hence he had to move it 🍀
+1. My 1-1s are really irregular and so there is a chance that OP's manager is just busy
But if hes worried about focus he might be right
Org?
Hope it's just a schedule snafu.
LC and shotgun that resume.
But sadly very few are hiring 😕 and too much competition in the market due to layoffs at Twitter, Meta, and other companies.
Its ok with his amazon resume hell get a nice place at a non faang at least and coast there until the end of the recession
