Hey, so I joined Infosys in 2018 and left it after working there for 2 years. A little bit about myself. I am a SAP Sales and Distribution consultant. In most companies, getting assigned to an implementation means one is a good performer....because implementations demand better technical and client handling skills than support projects. Previous experience Work at the first company- Was put into an implementation in 3 months after joining the company as a fresher. Like I mentioned earlier, getting an implementation is a sign of performing well. There were other employees with similar levels of experience who weren't put on any implementation projects. There were employees who were put on 1 project, but because their performance on that project was bad, once the project got over, they weren't assigned to any more implementation but assigned to EDI projects. Based on the performance in the first implementation, was then assigned to another implementation project. Got excellent reviews. Got a promotion in the first year - went from level L0 to L1. The salary was increased from 3,60,000 per year to 5,86,000 per year. Based on my performance in the second implementation, was assigned to a 3rd implementation project. Got an excellent review again. Got a second promotion in the second year of my work. Went from L1 to L2. Salary increased from 5.8 LPA to 6.8 LPA in 2 years. There were senior consultants with 7 years of experience who were at job level L2 at Itelligence. Was often appreciated by the MD and CEO to have beaten expectations. Was appreciated by senior colleagues for having a focused desire to learn. Was called a very good salesman - they jokingly would say that I could sell ice to an eskimo. After leaving the first company, learned ABAP and got a SAP certification. Know core ABAP well. Work at second company At the second company, there are a lot of Externals - employees who are not hired on the payrolls of the company, but work on the payrolls of an external vendor. More than 40% of employees on projects are externals. Becoming permanent is hard at this company. Usually, employees are either let go once their contract expires (in case of poor performance) or their contracts are extended without being made permanent (in case of satisfactory performance). Few employees are made permanent at this company. Was immediately put on an implementation at this company too. 2 developers on my project were very good performers, but they weren't made permanent. In such a time where becoming permanent was hard, I was made permanent. Started working in ABAP too. Started developing my objects independently. Got excellent reviews from the first PM. He said how I make a relatively lower salary compared to my knowledge levels. The customers were happy with my performance too. At one point, they were ready to hire me on their payrolls. The new PM also gave good feedback on my skills and knowledge levels. He said that because I have consulting skills, I was made permanent. Another employee on the same project who didn't have consulting skills wasn't made permanent. When he was about to leave the project, he offered me to become the new PM full time. He said that in terms of skills and knowledge, I am the senior most employee on the project. I Worked as a SD trainer at a training institute in Pune The owner of that place is a FI consultant. He said that my SD knowledge is strong. At Infosys. In my first project at Infosys, the manager gave feedback that I was a team player. One the second project, one of the managers gave me feedback that I have a focused desire to learn. Before I was the SD consultant on the project, there was another senior SD consultant with 8-9 years SAP experience and 2-3 years domain experience, 10-12 years experience overall. There was a senior FI consultant on the project. He was later hired by the client as the head of BI. When I asked him for his feedback on my SAP SD knowledge and skill levels, he said that I know more SD than the previous SD consultant who had 10-12 years experience overall. Client's feedback on knowledge levels - Infosys project had a poor scope of work, hence he found it difficult to assess my skill and knowledge levels. In 2020, I got offer letters from 2 companies. The interviews of both companies were harder than at Infosys. If the difficulty level of the interview at Infosys was 3/10, the difficulty of the interview at the 2 other companies was 6/10. Plus, the interview duration was longer (1 1 hour interview + 1 30 minute face to face interview in the first company. 1 45 minute interview in the second company). Infy's interview Feedback of Project manager at Infosys: Project manager at Infosys said that SAP SD knowledge levels are very low for someone with 5-6 years experience in SD. He said in Hindi "bohot peeche chal rahe ho". He would imply that my knowledge levels are this way - that I think that SAP is the customization's which I have worked on. He told that I need to brush up my SD knowledge, since my knowledge is almost non existent. This feedback was grossly incorrect and was one of the main reasons why I left Infosys. In addition to it, the work at Infosys was poor in scope. When I told him that a senior colleague on the project told me that my SD knowledge was more than another senior sd colleague and didn't need to brush up my knowledge and showed him this guy's linkedin recommendation as proof, he tried to nullify me by saying that because it is LinkedIn, people just write positive things there, implying that it isn't true. He seems like a demon from hell. #toxic #manager #infosys
Happens at one point or another in career. Blind is equally toxic though. Don't let the comments hurt you.
Your previous history of success does not indicate that you're currently performing well. If you're unhappy with your project manager for criticising your skills, then you may need to develop a thicker skin and figure out how to improve. Seeing how you're bashing Infosys everyday here, and you're also calling your project manager as a demon from hell, I suspect there is more to the story. Share more details OP.
How do you know he has been bashing Infosys everyday. How do you track that? Curious me.
@jobfinder I was on Blind a lot and noticed this infysucks user bashing Infosys consistently over the last few days when I posted this. No real way to track.
