Saw some posts on mass (100%) layoffs in Sales and partner teams at MapR - anyone knows what’s going on exactly ?
getting crushed by cloudera+hortonworks merger
Haha, lol. How is cloudera doing after merger?
they are doing good. almost all shops i'm working on have cdh/hdp data lake. what i've noticed is they are focusing on services (consulting) these days
Yes
This is definitely a “business exit” or an asset sale or a tough acquisition
Lots of buzz that they’ll be acquired.
What happens to the employee stocks if they get acquired ?
If they get acquired by Microsoft for example, employee stock becomes Microsoft stock.
What if they get acquired by a private firm ?
No official publication but several linkedin posts say the same thing
Any buzz on potential buyers?
HPE, DXC, Cloudera
HPE and DXC has no 💰 💰. Cloudera has nothing to gain from MapR except customers and mapr file system.
