Marketing career path

I’m a certified Pardot specialist, HubSpot inbound certified and Salesforce sales cloud expert working to get certification. Recently hired by one of the biggest tech company right after laid off from small company I like to work at Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, but notice enterprise companies use Marketo. Do you have any career path recommendations? How can I learn Marketo fast when my company use Pardot? Any recommendations to improve my knowledge to earn the salary like software engineers. There are tons of online resources to learn Marketo, learn on your own time! You’re in marketing so stop comparing your salary to engineers. What do you enjoy doing? If your curious about engineering or marketing operations, set up discovery conversations with people in your extended network that work in those fields.

First you’ll need access to Marketo through a company to do really anything in it. There are some very basic trainings and videos you can find on the website and I’d suggest reading the product document to familiarize yourself with its capabilities. But really, if you have experience with Pardot and Hubspot you already have transferable skills and will be able to pick up Marketo fairly easy. It’ll be more about how you position yourself during interviews.

I've worked in Pardot but also a certified Marketo Professional and Eloqua Master. Pardot is a good starting point and when you do jump to a new gig, you'll be able to have those transferable skills. All marketing automation platforms do the same thing but with different UI's :-)
