Marketing/Founder To Product Management

First post and I'm extremely overwhelmed. I have recently decided to move on from entrepreneurship and marketing to product management. It seemed the most natural fit. Preferably in MAANG. As for myself, I have taught myself the technicals (SEO, Analytics, Web Dev, SQL, Funnels, Branding), became a Fractional CMO for two startups, and implemented Agile as a framework for teams. My business is a full-service marketing agency. I was fortunate enough to work with start-ups in Fintech, Healthcare, Telecommunications (collaborated and competed against T-Mobile, DirecTV, XFINITY, AT&T) Non-Profits, SaaS, E-Commerce, local government, and local businesses. For full transparency, I'm a better marketer than I was a business owner as I had a hard time scaling. 7 years of learning, growing, and experiencing humility. I was able to leverage my skill set to a local children's hospital as both a board member and CMO on a volunteer basis. Is there anyone that can give me advice on how to successfully transition? What can I expect from the technical part of the interview? Is it reasonable to expect that my interview process will be different compared to a SWE going for a PM role? I'm currently creating mobile apps (non-code) for current clients and feel that would make me stand out. Too much? Is there anything else I can do to stand out or better prepare for an interview? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. ***I started reading Cracking the PM interview and ran through at least 12 LinkedIn certifications congruent to PM and leadership these past two weeks*** #pm #product #productmanager #marketing #entrepreneur #founder

Recently made the transition myself—I told myself I would practice interviewing at smaller companies and shoot for FAANG but ended up taking my first PM role at a small startup. I like it here for the most part, all ups and downs of a small co, but a formal environment to learn PM and get the title on my resume for when I apply to FAANG later on. Curious other peoples’ experiences

Thank you for the response! What was your business/specialization prior to your transition?
