It’s generally safer to job hop. If a company has a open role then the role is needed. They would not spend the money in hiring just to lay you off. New roles are less likely to be laid off

Why would a company hire a position if they want to lay off the position. It takes a lot of money to hire a new employee - companies are already in budget mode. They don’t want you, they won’t spent money interviewing you.
