My understanding of the Holocaust was incorrect!
Amazon and AWS are facing an avalanche of people quitting their jobs. Some senior Amazonians who have started thinking of leaving as well, say that the company dishonesty about the salary increase which seems it was a fake increase is the main reason that Amazonian are leaving the company. Other classical issues at AWS, such as incompetent mid- and low-level managers, unhealthy and unnecessary politics in promoting and demoting employees have also fueled this chaos. One of the AWS leader who recently left said that Amazon is the best company from technology perspective and the worst company from the culture and work environment point of view. Your thoughts ? #amazon #aws #quit #tech
amazon onsite in couple of weeks then I saw this post 🥲
My thoughts are that you made up a story and presented it as fact. Still waiting on Amazon collapse after all these years. Any day now 🤡
It's true, my uncle work at amazon.
The stock is only worth 5% today what it was worth last month. 🤡
Nothing new here. Everyone knows what Amazon is, for better or worse.
I’m thinking of going to Amazon. C1 pay is shit but Amazon may open up more doors if I suffer for 1-2 years there
You could very well end up liking it. In the right team it is a great place to work.
Odds are you’ll find a normal team with normal WLB, if not just quit. You’re hurting yourself more not trying, looks better on resume + more pay
That’s how it is.
low quality trolling. increase was not fake. job market not great right now if u haven’t noticed so if anything, attrition slows just from that
It was fake from the point of view that total target comp was likely unchanged. When I joined I got the max base plus a "cash bonus" that was nearly as big as the cash base, trailing down after two years to match the back loaded vest, but the target comp per year was the same, just a different mix between diminishing cash bonus and increasing value of rsu's. The press saw the doubling base salary' as an actual increase whereas I viewed it has having to simply do away with the "cash bonus" for new hires but the target comp likely not changing .
I was hired 3 months ago. Almost 4X my prior TCO. Pay talk doesn’t feel fake to me obviously but maybe the story is different for people that have been here a while
I had never saw a happy face in Amazon during my interviews. The atmosphere was tense and people seemed not sleep well.
Maybe it was because of the way you talk?
No, I was walking in the building and it was not decorated inside, the lighting was not good, more like a factory. People walking in and looked not sleep well and discussing about someone playing games… you could hear that because the rooms had no ceilings.
Best technology? LOL. The internal tools suck a lot. Half of them are outdated / unsupported / deprecated. It's most ironic to be starting a new job at Amazon, and receiving warnings that the new tool you were told to use, is now deprecated! Only a few months into the job! You're literally have to be onboarding using the tools that have been officially deprecated yet for which no approved alternative exists yet! How does it even make sense to deprecate something before a useable and supported replacement is available?
Lol look at the rest of the tech industry right now and tell me Amazon is a terrible place to work. I don’t plan to be here forever either, but you can’t ignore that we’re holding up way better than a lot of the other companies in the space rn.
And paying a lot more than others. Amazon ain't screwing around rn.
Mid-sized tech companies are laying their employees off/freezing hiring left and right, Google has an average tenure of two years other large tech stocks are down similarly but somehow people get on here and complain once a week about the stock going down and high turnover rate
ho hum these amazon posts are just getting old, been hearing this shit since 2015
No wonder I got like 4 emails from 4 different recruiters over the last 6 months. I failed their Coding Review initially when I started looking. So when they got back to me, I was like Woah. Only to realize on Blind people hate it.
Over the past 6 months I received about 3 emails per week, some with multiple follow ups and recruiters even talking about personal life and things like "how's the weather over there?". Seemed quite desperate.
