Thinking about making a switch to MBA from Software Engineering. Is there still a market for them? Or am I just wasting my time.
If you have no real skills, MBA is a good way to get a piece of paper used for validation. Many job role will pay more for that piece of paper. But generally, top tier roles don't give a shit.
This is incredibly true. But that's probably only relevant in Tech.
It's it's not top tier, don't worry about getting an MBA. it won't help your trajectory at all.
Yea. It's not as valued as people make it to be.
don't do it, it's absolutely fucking useless. Have some MBA friends and it's been taking some of them a long time to get a job. Also, insane working hours for others who did manage to find jobs.
I differ with my opinion, it depends where you want to be after an MBA, in non-tech roles such as marketing, sales or finance? then probably worth it. I can't speak for the market for these roles. but if you are looking to do an MBA, to get into tech management roles then probably not worth it.
I've done it and moved from engineering to product management. It was worth it and doubled salary. I got hire 6 months after graduation.
make sure you go to one of the top ten school or it is a waste of effort.
No market. Don’t do it
It's a great way to make new friends. It will slow down your earnings in the short term.
