Entry level ME and EE make $65k This has been the same intro 1-5 year salary for 15 years. It often takes 10 years at the same company to get 100k. Job changes sometimes increase pay. Many region large employers all work with “independent” fairness and equity companies that price fix salaries based on title and YOE.

I made way more money when I moved to software. I recently interviewed at a well known hardware company and they dropped me from the interview process when I told them what TC I was looking for.
