Medical Treatment for Parent in US

I am on H1B. My father is 67 years old and lives in India. 4 years ago he had cardiac arrest due to block in heart. Doctors in India said his veins in the heart are very thin and hence any kind of surgery would be dangerous. If I need to bring him to the US and consult a doctor here and do his treatment, what would be a way to do this ? Will I get to buy insurance for him that can cover his treatment expenses ? Has any one done similar things and have a good insurance to suggest ? Thanks in advance TC: ~300k

Your dad is not gonna get the best treatment in the US especially for the same amount of money spent. Why not get his treatment in India (and u work from home) or other Asian or European countries with better health care.

I have entry access and knowledge about healthcare only in India and US. Since doctors in India are not very confident and I live in US, wanted to check what doctors here suggest for his condition.

American doctors are way better than the doctors in Asia. Taking time with patient, looking at history, consulting with other physicians, following the protocols, and possibility of suing when they had malpractice. I am from Asia and have been seeing so many doctors her and my home country due to my family’s chronic health issues. American doctors and hospital systems are far superior and it is not even close. Chinese, Indian, or whoever from foreign countries are very unprofessional and commit lots of mistakes here in US despite them passing to practice here. You want to avoid doctors whose MD is from other developing nations.

I doubt insurance company can cover such cases, otherwise they’ll just lose money. I am curious to know too

I dont think insurance will cover.

Insurance will not cover. But many top hospitals in US have consultation programs that you could explore. You will have to pay a few thousand dollars out of pocket for the second opinion though. Just an option.

TC? US healthcare is the best in the world. It will definitely make a difference if you can afford to bring him here.
