I applied for a Tools related EDA position (non-R&D, more on the solutions side) with 7+ years of experience. Got a call for interview. With 7+years of experience and 2 advanced degrees, what can we expect as a compensation package? How is the work culture? Any perks that will make it worthwhile? How does Synopsys fare in the same way? If it is not very attractive, I might even consider not proceeding with the full interview. Need inputs please #siemenscompensation #mentorgraphics #synopsys #synopsysinc
SNPS pays peanuts. You might get Sr II or staff at Synopsys. 160k or so
EDA is anyway now low paying as compared to regular hardware/software jobs .
I thought EDA is some high-tech areas right? why is the pay low? is it because of the competition between SNPS/M/C which lowers the profit?
Siemens pays even worse. They want to offshore exponentially and cut costs.
Siemens is even worst then synopsys and cadence. They are new in software and are not able to match salaries even EDA competition is providing. Good people are leaving in hoards more than 30% senior engineers already left or planning to leave unfortunately
@OP, do you mind sharing your offer detail? What did you end up getting?
Stability- High, Work Culture - not very good people are leaving the company so quite negative environment, Benefits - very bad, Salary - low as compared to competitors in same domain, RSU - negligible or very low. Synopsys is way better than Siemens , they have much better stock plan and benefits
What can be the expected TC?
