Meta Internal Software Engineer Location - Menlo Park, CA Level - IC4 Base - $165k Stock - $250k/4 Joining Bonus – NA Job Description: https://www.metacareers.com/v2/jobs/1116008389136861/ Qualtrics SDEII Location - Seattle, WA Level – L4 Base - $145k Stock - $280k/4 Joining Bonus - $15k Relocation Bonus - $10k Job Description: https://www.qualtrics.com/careers/us/en/job/4011693/Software-Engineer-II-CX-Conversational-Analytics Meta Benefits are better. I talked to both hiring managers – I liked the work at Qualtrics (it's conversational analytics team). With Meta it's building internal applications/ tools within Business Process Engineering team for Global Sales and Marketing ads - there will be lot of cross functional colab (50 to 70% coding and 30% to 50% talking to other business teams to understand requirements) What are the differences between ISE vs SDE? Which will have technical and career growth in the long-term? I'm more interested in technical skills and programming than business aspects for the long term - provide your inputs if you know about Qualtrics conversational analytics team or Meta ISE team. Thanks in advance for your inputs. Edit : Thank you everyone for your inputs. I've accepted Qualtrics. #swe #software #engineering #ise #sde #meta #qualtrics
ISE sounds like second class citizen to SWE but I might be wrong
I wouldn't compare like that. It's a slightly different role with different responsibilities

Also got an offer from Qualtrics, same level with $300k stock grant so you can def negotiate both for more. I’m also debating between Qualtrics and waiting on Meta on-site results. Hmm I know Qualtrics is going to RTO sometime this year but WLB seems better there than Meta.
Don't think we're gonna RTO. That was definitely in the plans 6 months ago but the winds of change seem to have blown favorably our way.
Oo that’s awesome! I hear its unclear from leadership but was there an update?
Not officially. But the messaging went from "when we go hybrid, we'll recommend 3 days in office" to "We will be very flexible with remote and hopefully can get everyone in the office once a month"
SDE has a better career trajectory from my understanding. Also, factor in taxes- Seattle has no income tax so I think your take home may be much higher.
OP - How is it going at Qualtrics ?

How was the interview at Qualtrics?
The interview was good. There were 1 technical coding screen, 2 technical coding rounds, 1 system design and 1 behavioral.
