I came across this post on r/consulting where someone mentioned how Bain handled Meta’s restructuring. Partners at Bain seem to have taken their best interests while making decisions. From what I have seen, it is generally the case when tech firms hire consulting firms. Why does this still happen if it is well known? What level would Zuck be, had he not created FB
Op You cannot control rash drivers on highway. Same way companies cannot control outcomes.
Already posted TC TC: 0 (still a student)
Don’t you need a company email to get on blind?
Yeah def sounds like a new hire who finally got to see what consulting is about. Corps hire consultants to have external justification of their action. They really thought that CXOs and VPs with decades of experience would listen to entry-level consultants? 😂
You mean you wouldn’t make million dollar decisions from a kid fresh from undergrad?
Honestly it really wouldn't surprise me if C level executives had their head up so far up their ass that they couldn't handle something like this. I mean, they're doing a pretty good job of ruining what Meta has done well for the past decade.
Consulting firms are hired to implement what the client really wants but cannot say in public and also take blame afterwards.
Understand that, you probably can figure out the personality required for mid/high level managers in consulting. Yeah those three seniors show that.
Pay me millions and I'll take the blame.
Most likely a troll 🧌
This a new emoji? First time I've seen it
This explains it: "Startup Shell is the student-run coworking space and incubator at the University of Maryland."
Where do you see that quote?
Unfortunately, no matter what the criteria is , some 11k people has to go…
Have gone!
Had* to go
The blind layoff resulted in many great workers being laid off, and scaring the bejeezus out of those who remain. Any remaining loyalty has gone out the window. It’s attrition they want, so they’ll get it as opportunities present themselves.
Isn’t meta still one of the highest payers? Who can top the pay and benefits at this stage?
How much does the pay matter if it'll only last five minutes?
Why would anyone think Bain ever had our best intentions in mind? Fuck me maybe Metamates needed a layoff to get that naivete broken. The shit I see in the Meta Lounge
I’ve been SO CURIOUS what the chatter is like in the Meta Lounge these days 😆
Yeah spill it
This is some of what consultants do. They get paid a fortune to tell companies to fire people
Consultants are paid to give the Exec plausible deniability when the idea fails, or is completely stupid… I.e. “Bain did the digging and suggested that we RIF 11k people, what was I supposed to do? Not take their expert advice?”
Yes but the same consultant wouldn't do strategy and management work 😂, this isn't like Papa John's when the cashier can fill in for the delivery driver 😂
When did you get laid off?
@Startup Shell, I understand you have habit of spitting shit out of your mouth but atleast have some humanity man. People’s lives got impacted in severe manner for some with these layoff. If you can’t say anything positive then atleast keep your fcuking mouth shut🤐
