I started working for Meta as a QA lead a few months back in the Bay Area. At first I was happy with my offer/package and the perks, however in recent times after a few conversations with coworkers and reading Blind posts I have started to think that I was given a lowball offer. I did not negotiate much as they just tried to match my previous salary and offer 15% ish more on the total yearly comp. than the previous company. Fellow Blinders (especially Metamates) please vote/comment on the package below based on my YOE of 10+ yrs. IC4 Base: 165k RSU/yr: 30k Yearly Bonus: 15% Sign-on: 20k Total annual comp ~ 220k
Do QA get paid less than devs at Meta ?
Do they get paid the same at Salesforce???
Yes - since it’s all meant to be hybrid engineers
QA leads are not swe. They are responsible for an army of CW doing manual testing.
CW ?
Contractors
If your role does not involve automation and/or coding, then you need to start appreciating your TC more. On the flip side, if your role does, then your TC is ok, but can see another 15% increase
What’s your level? This is lower than the normal SWE/PM comp but you are in QA so I’m not sure
