My start date is Dec 4th. Currently Lawyers are trying to file h1b petition with USCIS but time is getting close. Lawyers said I will need to have H1B approval ready physically when I start. Not sure if it's possible Need approval since I'm currently not on H1B - cant start on receipt. is it okay to push out start date since this is due to immigration? #meta
Yes! This is a very common problem. Reach out to the recruiter.
Not only meta, you should push it for any company, never join on receipt notice.
Why?
if your petition gets denied(hopefully not), you've resigned current job and not able to work in new job
I think you'll be fine for Dec 11th start date. Recruiters understand. My start date scheduled for Dec 11th is likely to be pushed to Jan 8th due to visa delay
same situation!
When did you accept the offer?
In the same boat! Probably would push the start date
lemme know how your process goes
Sure, DM?
