I've received an offer from Meta for E4 and got word that they'll need to do a background check. So I'm getting all my W-2's and contacts in order. The trouble is, back in college I developed a website for a small local business for a semester. It was unpaid, since my school linked us up (they get a website, me and some other students get experience). I listed it on my resume as experience because that was the whole point of it, to get experience. Since it was unpaid and through the school, I have no official documentation. I've tried to contact the owner, but have gotten no response. Our website we built for them has gone down, so I can only assume they went out of business (I still have the website on my github so I know I didn't dream it all up). Will this affect my offer? It was back in 2019, I've had 3.5 years of full-time job experience since then. TC: 115k YOE: 3.5 #swe #meta #engineering
They don’t care don’t worry, they mainly will check criminal records
Don’t put that position in the verification. 90% no one’s going to notice. If they do, what you have written in the post is more than enough. Offer to share GitHub project if they need. Don’t worry.
I had an unpaid internship in college and recruiters said to leave it out of the background check. Every company is different of course but usually they are really only checking for paid positions you had.
As long as you are meeting minimum experience requirement for the job listed you should be okay. You need to worry if you counted that school experience to meet minimum requirement, at that point your background check will fail.
It won’t fail. It will get flagged for review. Then he gets a chance to explain.
No one gives a shit about it. They just check most important stuff like, criminal records etc.
Dude , chill d f out.
Dont worry just leave it out in bg check
No worries. Leave it out.
As long as you didn't rob a bank, are a secret spy, didn't totally lie on your resume, no one cares
You can just leave that part out during background check and explain why if they ever ask you
This is the way.
They never gonna ask i think
