Meta is outsourcing interviews?

Had a pretty crap interview experience. A “recruiter” called me from a call center, recorded our call, and asked technical questions off script. Most questions were pretty similar to my interview last year but wtf… they didn’t know if they were right or wrong, they had no opinion, I may have been talking to a wall. not even applying, was just fielding job options as they came… they must be desperate #meta #whatnottodo

Sometimes I wonder if I’m actually talking to Amazon/Meta or if some random recruiter is trying to source me as a candidate

Maybe it's for contracting roles?

You remembered to wire over your refundable deposit first right? Also you need to give your last name and ssn

Naw, definitely FTE in the product org. had loose comp discussion. Recruiter had a Fb.com email domain

Was this an initial interview (like stage 1 over the phone)? If so, it’s usually a sourcer, not an actual recruiter, and their job is to ask the same general questions to everyone they speak with.

That’s fair but this was the worst of them. First time I had the interview answers recorded

Lol, I had that with Google (recruiter asking technical questions off some script). It was hilarious, but he was actually competent enough to not make it awkward, and the questions were supposed to help me figure out when it was best to set up my interview dates so that I could properly prepare. The real unprofessional part of the Google interviews were the actual engineers.
