Hello everyone, I just finished my first week of bootcamp currently working on ramp up tasks and taking up trainings etc. (E4 SWE) Wanted suggestions on teams that I can consider/join. I come from Java/python background with no C++/php experience. Interviewed for systems stream so mainly looking for infra teams(but open to others as well) Any suggestions on which teams I can consider/tips on searching? Where are you doing bootcamp?
Probably Menlo Park…
Are E4s getting 300K now? Wow congrats. Don't worry about not knowing php OP. It is dumb easy, you'll figure it out. Projects come and go, reorgs happen, and switching teams is not super complicated. Focus on finding a team you enjoy working with. Welcome aboard, hope you have a great time.
Thank you 😊 can’t wait to start meeting with teams
As a new E4 as well appreciate the advice. I’ve heard similar from other people but Hack seems fairly daunting right now haha.
Also an incoming e4 supposedly for infra. Only have experience w node/ts/ruby so im wondering if I should start learning c++ to ease the ramp up. Maybe even do a small project
Hey did you end up joining a c++ team? How is it? I am in a similar situation where I don’t have any cpp experience but interested in doing infra haha
