At Meta you have people who are 6 years out of college making $1m a year. This is widespread here. When people hear that, of course they flock to tech jobs. This drives up the supply of engineers to unsustainable levels which leaves us plebs unable to find new jobs. To alleviate this problem, Meta should take the lead in cutting new offers down to size. No more than $500k TC for new hires. And it should be judicious about giving anyone more than $300K TC. Time to face reality.
They can drive away even more prospects by kicking off another round of layoffs. Maybe even OP with get the 🪓.
Op. Sour grapes? Work on ur skills so u get that kind of money too. I don’t make that much but i focus on “how can i get there” rather than “how do i bring the other person down”.
Oh I’m making over a million bucks here at Meta but I realize that I am overpaid and don’t deserve it
Classic case of gatekeeping. OP is making a lot so now they want others that come after them to make less 🤣. stfu
Also helped in the destruction of California..
Don’t you have to be at least L7 to make that much? I can’t imagine there are many people at that level.
Stock rise
If you got a new hire grant in 2022 for $100, you’d be up almost 500%
fuck i'm behind I have 5.5yoe making 650k
🤣
Your tc is my base
Existing eng salaries should be cut. If you reduce the TC of new comer, they will not join in Meta. It's simple. And ppl recently got offer from Meta may not join in meta. Their E5 offer is around 400-500k. It means their TC can be reduced to 300-400k. Your stock is all time high.
nVidia is different from you. They have monopoly products so they are less risky.
I'm pretty sure your leadership will evaluate the existing employees based on TC after comparing the Level and TC band. If it matches, they will be promoted without TC increases, or pip them. New hire who receive less money will replace them.
This problem will fix itself
wtf. Are these numbers with stock appreciation?
