Micron offer evaluation
Hi guys, Looking to get your advice and help with the decision - Micron or stay at current AWS? Move will be with family so a critical decision. Work culture and job stability in recession. YOE- 12, in the global construction team E5 level Current AWS (East Oregon) Base - 160k, total RSU - 121k (vesting in 3 years) Micron (Boise) Base - 165k, 24k (IPP bonus max), Total RSUs - 90k(vesting in 4 years) Moving would family so will highly appreciate any comments or suggestions. Besides total comp, My main concern is moving to new area and how is WLB and culture at Micron Boise. How is Micron for long term stay? Thanks!

Building DCs at fhe rate they get built is a tough ask

Mixron is on the rise And has focus towards sustainability
But having said that the micron compensation is not enough. What should i be going after? I am getting peanuts in ADS too which may see much increase until i get promoted which is toil

Thanks! Is e5 good for my level of experience? What more shouod i ask for in TC? I feel my skills will align better but not sure how is work culture WLB. Family is important
Minimum E5 for sure for your exp, just ask if they can bump grade. I would say micron wlb is better than Amazon, I know friends who works in both company hw.
What worries me is job stability and recession hovering. How has been Micron during such times in the past?
Micron isn't immune to layoffs especially since they are in the memory industry which is pretty cyclic. They have done layoffs in the past and the current CEO is a silicon valley person so follows the Jack Welch / Andy Grove model of rank and yank is my impression
Can you clarify about "global construction"? If it is not related to semiconductor chips which micron focus on, any other job offer options?

Micron WLB is much better than Amazon. Pretty relaxed and the culture is VERY good.
What's your motivation to move out of Amazon? I don't imagine the global construction team has regular PIP?
Thanks! It is very little in my area but at amazon with.a lot of stress, i do the utility infra delivery and it a constant pressure and very less reward
