Please evaluate my new grad offer from Micron (DRAM Engineering): Base: 100k Relocation 13k RSU 8k / 4 Bonus: 7-14% Location Boise ID. How does that compare to other Hardware companies for new MS? Should I ask for higher base?# #amd #intel #nvidia #qualcomm #apple #google #microsoft #hardware #semiconductor
Holly cow we pay catalyst program fresh grads like 30% more than this…
You're in Idaho...not bad for potato land
nw, the Gem State got it
Good offer if you're a ChemE/MSE grad, okay for EE(Intel can do better in Hillsboro and COLA is the same now, ignore other comments about Idaho in here). I'm assuming you're an EE grad since it's hardware and not process.
Thanks, how does that compare to ASML EE grad?
Customer side always makes more than vendor. If you work in development for Tool companies you have to live in San Jose(Hw salaries just don't compete in that COLA except top of the top like Nvidia). If you DM me I can offer some Micron specific advice.
Good for MS with 0 YoE
Thanks, I forgot to mention the 1 year internship experience.
No, definitely not sorry. I was making 50% more as a fresh MS a couple of years ago
Experience matters when you are starting your career. Mu offers good breadth and opp for newbies. Nego harder and go for it, they have huge investments coming to boise.
How is micron’s annual reward cycle ? Compensation adjustment and rsu ? Is there an avg value can be quoted?
Bonus can range from 70% to 140% (bad year vs good year range) of your bonus target assuming a rating of meet expectations. Typical raises are 2-4%, we got a 6-10% raise over a year ago but that’s not normal. Rsu seems to really vary based on division. But I think e4 can expect refresher of around 30k . If someone has better data points on refreshers, feel free to correct me.
Are the bonuses similar to Intel? Quarterly? Or ?
Annual
Micron does not negotiate salary with new grads. Your offer of 100k is exactly on par for someone with a fresh MS (assuming you are going into DRAM PI). The only wiggle room you may have is with additional RSUs. You should assume that you will get to little to no additional RSUs once you start working there, as managers have a tendency to hoard them and dole them out to 1 or 2 high performers on their team.

People who like Modi, are you okay with your country’s leader using words like “infiltrators” for a community?
If I were you, I’d ask for more RSUs. 100k base for Boise assuming no experience before MS is great for E2! Comparing this with E4 average base which is 115-120k
Thanks, i think because I interned with Micron before. What RSU range you think it’s reasonable?
You could try for 30-40k RSUs but could get close to 15-20k at the very least. But great offer overall, congrats!
