Does Microsoft strictly ask the employee to return the sign on bonus in case we leave the company in few months after joining. Any one faced a similar situation? TC: 200K

I saw a Googler ( Male ) hit a lady multiple times in the cafe, should I report?
Yes.
Yes, they would take the first year sign on if you leave the company prior to 12 months:
Oh okay, thanks for the info. Some companies don’t impose this strictly, but looks like Microsoft is not one of them 😌
And how about tax? Typically we only get 60% of amount after the tax
What if you have a sign on bonus for year one and year two and you leave after 20 months?
Then you only return the 2nd year sign on. That’s what is mentioned on my offer letter.
I mean in practice would they actually ask for it
What are the tax implication for this? Typically we only get 60% of amount after the tax. Are we supposed to return the tax too?
Nah hell no. I know I wouldn’t
You mean don’t need to return the tax or we need to return it?
Ever read your offer letter?
Offer letter mentions it needs to be returned. But I wanted to know if it’s strictly imposed. Some of the companies I know don’t care.
Doesn’t matter whether they impose it or not, you gotta prepare to pay. Don’t hope.
Yes. MS is cheap on this. Not like FB who does not even ask
Yeah, no wonder why their salaries are also so cheap 😌
OP, what happened?
Got a better offer else where
OP please tell where and when did you interview this new company?
Your manager can override this but it is highly unlikely since you have been there for only few months.
Yeah makes sense
If you quit within few months, would MS blacklist you?
Quiet likely
Yes they do
