I'm at LinkedIn and building a new gaming PC. How do the free copies of Windows work at Microsoft? Can I install Windows 10 and then later activate it once the merger is complete? :/
WTF is this! I'm sure LI can afford Windows licenses.
You get free msdn subscription that includes pretty much all Microsoft products, a bunch of azure services and vm benefits.
Can it be applied after install? Anything negative happen if I don't activate for a long time?
Your MSDN sub is for testing and dev only not gaming or other non test use. As an MS employee you get access to the company store so you can get a license for $20 or something
Find if your school has windows 10 education. Free and better than Pro :)
I'm out of school...
20$ at the company store for a usb stick with windows 10 on it
+1 for torrent iso and put it on a usb flash drive and boot. Fully loaded Windows 10 in under an hour. Do it pussy.
insider build, and if you dont want latest updates select slow ring. legit and free
How do I do that?
join the windows insider program online and they have the download links there. you would need a microsoft account (consumer account, like an @hotmail.com or @outlook). once installed sign on with that ms account.
Afaik you can install Windows 10 and not license it. It will just get more and more annoying nagging you but won't stop working.
perfect, I'll do that and license it once the deal goes through.
You can download Windows from ms and put it in cd/usb drive.
