Hello all, first time here. So after many attempts I was able to enter Amazon as a L5 in September last year. I have around 6 months there and so far.. I hate it. Management is terrible. I can feel the distrust to our team since it's new. I feel more like a contractor than a full time. I was able to land an opportunity at Microsoft as an IC4 which I understand it's a level below. My question is should I move to MS even if that means less salary? I value more my work life balance and it's something I don't have at Amazon. Background: - TC: current 85k yearly vs 60k (without bonus and benefits) - yoe: around 9 years.
If it affects your mental well being, then yes.
lol IC4 is not a valid Microsoft title. Did you accidentally interview at Apple?
😂
Lol, you just made me double check the offer. Yes it's says software engineer ic4
IC4 at Microsoft maps to L6 at Amazon
I tried to Google the equivalent but never found a definitive answer. Do you have a source ?
IC4 maps to Level 63 and 64 in the US. 64 maps into L6 more at Amazon. 63 is high end L5/L6 start. IC4 is unique across ass countries but levels may be different. IC4 is Mexico could be a lower level than 63/64 but if you were to move to usa through Microsoft, you will get unleveled as 63 or 64 since you’re IC4
IC4 SdE working in a Sales Org is 62-63 (upper sde2, entry senior) while IC4 in Engineering is 63-64 (both senior), depending on the org.
Tc, yoe?

Thanks, and where are you based? If it's US or EU it's really less for 9 years exp. And what's Msft offering?
