Update 2/28: Sent my last update request email today. I have other prospects that are moving much faster and I’d rather not wait around for my recruiter to just tell me I’m not getting an offer. hah Update 2/24: No news yet. I’m just going to assume I’m out of the running at this point. [shrug] What can ya do? haha Hey all! I had my onsite over a week ago, 5 interviews (1-2 people per session; 6 hours total), made it all the way to the end where I met with the recruiter who gave me all the information on how salary is determined (I didn’t ask actually), told me they had a couple of candidate interviews left, gave me a tour, and all the fun stuff. The position is a director role. Nonetheless, the interviews were fine, meaning they were relaxed and conversational, and I was generally content with the experience overall. Nothing was cut short and the interviewers were open and overall friendly. I try not to get too excited considering we all know how these situations can change without knowing. It’s now Friday, the recruiter said he’d get back to me before Wednesday. I have sent a follow up email Wed evening and no response as of yet. I think I’ll give it one more week and toss the idea from my head. Position is still open and my action center does still say interviews are in progress. I understand that this can mean very little. However, I did notice that my recruiter is contracted from a staffing agency (not a true onsite Microsoft HR). My guess is that this plays a big part on being potentially ghosted? Thanks for reading and hopefully someone can speak with some insight or a similar experience.
MS uses third party HR for recruiting
Don’t worry on the vendor being your recruiter. An FTE HR recruiter is usually involved behind the scenes. Give it a week or two. It can take weeks before a result due to other candidates’ schedules.
My brother offer was told after he moved and got 2 payroll run in his new company , they replied after 10 th mail
On the same boat, interviewed for Group principal SEM role a week ago.. overall experience was positive and made it to AA who was very engaged and appreciative during our conversation.
Microsoft recently withdrew their offer to me. Level 63. TC 220K Non-Tech. H1B. Joining was 23rd. Background check and everything came fine. H1B transfer got RFE. Instead of responding To RFE, MSFT said they won’t and then withdrew the offer last minute. Can you tell me what should I do? I have already left my previous company.
Cos H1B’s are running into RFE’s very frequently now. So the idea was to join on receipt. I didn’t know they would withdraw their offer.
You wouldn’t even get a call for director role if you were directly dealing with Microsoft recruiter. Be thankful to your agency. They fill these roles internally almost always, so outcome won’t solely depend on your interview performance.
Ah, interesting! And no worries, I’m super grateful for the experience, just a bit confused on their process as I’ve personally never dealt with this before. So, is this really just a case of waiting it out? Thanks!
