I received a verbal offer in December 3rd. After a slow process and almost two months of ghosting by my recruiter, I finally get the call I wanted last friday. Recruiter can't answer any of my questions about my timeline or status. The recruiter promises she will call as soon as she gets an update which she is "actively seeking", even though I can't ever get a response from her. Monday comes, I check Microsoft Action Center and my status changes from 'Interview' to 'Not Selected'. I find it really distasteful for recruiters to behave this way. A candidate prepares, goes through a long process, flies and spends days in loop interviews. And then gets handed off this shit of treatment. Worst thing is they baited with a verbal offer, which I sticked to even though I had another offer in place. Can't stress enough how disappointing this experience was since MS is my dream company. I want to present a formal claim with all the facts and even see if there is any other action I may take. I know most of you will tell me to move on and that this is "normal behaviour from all companies". I believe nobody should stand through this kind of repulsive recruiters. What can I do? Thanks for reading
Unfortunately they owed you nothing and that's what you got. Nothing you can do other than trash them on social media if it makes you feel any better.
Yeah, feeling stupid by believing I deserved the common courtesy of communication.
Yeah they should have done way better.
Was it from ust
ust?

Glad to hear MSFT is no better than internal job moves or hiring at Intel. Sounds like manners and responsiveness in short supply everywhere.
Which team? Name and shame
Azure IoT
That sux. This is bad
I have no idea how people that act this way get to be recruiters. This is acting like a total piece of shit. Why is it so hard for recruiters to have a shred of integrity? Yes. I’m salty af. I get lied to be recruiters constantly. You would think I had gone into politics.
If you don't get a written offer within a day or a promise to send it in by the next two days. Just know you may not be their choice. Yes there are chances other things come up but your prerogative as a job seeker is to just move on to the next one.
You are right. It's something really obvious, but it is also easy to fall into the trap if it's the first time it happens. The excuse in the context was that we were near the holidays and things might have gotten slower. Still, I believe it is their responsibility to the candidates to give out transparency.
Yes sir but it has been more than a month from the holidays. In job hunting, in general, no news is bad news
Microsoft recently withdrew their offer to me. Level 63. TC 220K Non-Tech. H1B. Joining was 23rd. Background check and everything came fine. H1B transfer got RFE. Instead of responding To RFE, MSFT said they won’t and then withdrew the offer last minute. Can you tell me what should I do? I have already left my previous company.
that's what I got, the recruiter called to give an verbal offer, and never the offer sent to my mailbox. One month later, said they rejected me. In the field of professionalism, Microsoft hiring process is really quite disrespectful to both interviewee and interviewer.
Hi, which team was this for, because I got a verbal offer this week., nothing written yet so I'm scared that would happen to me as well
@AmerCap, did they ever get back to you? How long did it take and what was the result?
By the way, she never called back or emailed me to tell me about the rejection.
