- Microsoft is slimming down its salesforce. - The new layoffs are separate from the 10,000 job cuts Microsoft announced in January. - Salespeople and customer success representatives posted messages on social networks to announce they lost their jobs. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/07/10/microsoft-confirms-more-job-cuts-on-top-of-10000-layoffs-in-january.html
Microsoft filed a notice Monday saying it would cut 276 people in its home state of Washington. Of those, 66 are virtual. -- That's it?
That's just for US yesterday. Many many more were impacted WW, at least from what I've heard from colleagues. I personally know of 3 others who were let go...
What’s WW?
Are CSAM a part of this?
Yes
Not true. I haven’t seen any CSAMs let go this round. Just CSMs
Imagine waking up the next day and realizing you have no access ⛔️
Folks still have access for about a week or 2, I've heard
That would surprise me if a company that's "been around the block" like Microsoft doesn't revoke access immediately. There's always some percentage of people who will try to sabotage when they're fired if they still have access.
Real Rain strikes again.
Yeah he already predicted/leaked this a month back
Who’s this real rain guy? I’d like to follow him.
CSM modern work ww are also fired
They must have looked at Q2 numbers and decided to cull more
Time to buy puts
July 1 starts our fiscal year 24.
So a smaller number of layoffs this time?
Thats why there's no M for Microsoft in FAANG
Why is Amazon there then. They cut way more every year. 1k for MS size is nothing. 0.5%.
This is tough to hear. For anyone impacted, please feel free to DM me for a Bytedance/TikTok referral if interested. That goes for anyone else reading - just DM me
