Microsoft hiring squad process
Interviews lined up. Back to back 3 rounds with "hiring squad". The recruiter said that the hiring squad is not from the same team and hiring manager is not likely going to be there either ? So HM is relying on 3 YES from some other team ? Or this will advance to next round with HM if we get YES from all 3 ? Or 2/3 😆 #tech #msft #microsoft #hiringsquad
They will take your interview to see if you are a good fit for Microsoft. If hiring squad gives good feedback then they will put you in their hiring-pool and keep interviewing (3 rounds each time) until you get selected by team.
Thanks. The recruiter said the role is specifically for a sector and region I'm in. So they have a position open already. When you say the hiring squad's feedback is there a vote or is it a YES or NO and one NO means you are out
It's Vote basis. HM feedback is most important.

Is it LATAM? If they select you, you’ll just be picked by a hiring manager based on the feedback. Maybe one of the people on your loop will pick you, but maybe not. It depends on who’s next in line to pick. HMs list the people they like in their order of preference, and the coordinator makes the assignments. Weird system, and I’m not a fan.
It's in the US and the hiring team or manager are not in the interviews. I'm curious on how it will play out and what can I expect. Especially I had cliff hanger situations in past for such loops, where one of the rounds I was unsure. So I always wondered if all 3 need to say YES
No, they talk amongst themselves, and there are no rules. In the past, we’ve hired somebody, but if you go back to the initial feedback write ups, all 3 said no hire.
