Will be joining MSFT soon and I was wondering if Microsoft will reimburse me if I buy an office chair and a desk. I do not have a full time remote position, however the reason I ask is because they are sending me a desktop and monitors, instead of a laptop for my new hire equipment, and I feel that a desk and office chair is something that is needed for a decent desktop set up. Will they pay for it or am I out of luck since they decided to send me a desktop instead of a laptop? #microsoft
They usually send a laptop, contact your manager once. They do offer 1200 an year for fitness and home equipment related products.
Yeah that’s what I’ve heard, however they’re sending me a desktop according to the person who sent my equipment
Imo manager should approve your desk reimbursement.
Yes you can use this year's $1,500 fitness/wellness reimbursement to get a standing desk and an ergonomic chair. But I think you have to wait til you start the job to make the purchase
It’s $1500 in 2022. You can buy those and claim through Perk+
I don’t consider perks+ as a perk for office equipment, so I’m a little saltier than others here. When lockdown started, my team was told we could get $300 per person but realistically not everyone could use $300. So, I didn’t get shit, but spent like over 2k on chair, desk, and monitor. Last year, everyone at msft got a $1200 bonus though, which actually did help.
Microsoft TC?
