Microsoft i983 STEM OPT
I am in working under STEM OPT. Got offer from Microsoft and in the immigration process. They said they will give me an i983 plan (with tentative start date) so I have to send that i983 to my school DSO before they can give me an official start date. However, if I notify my DSO that I am changing employer, I also need to send a final evaluation i983 plan of my current employer - meaning I need to put in 2 week notice and get the end date. I am afraid to do this since the start date from Microsoft is just tentative one. Anyone has experience / idea what should I do ?
You can get the final evaluation done by your previous employer at a later date. It shouldn’t matter. Ask your DSO though. When is your STEM OPT expiring?
