Had interview with Microsoft …so out of 4 , 3 rounds went super good but last one with the hm was not too good .. do I still have a chance ?
What is the role for? If you think 3/4 went really well, you have a good chance
You still have a chance. The hiring manager does have the ultimate say but will factor in the loop’s feedback. There’s at least three potential outcomes from the loop: 1. Yes 2. Yes, but a lower level would be better 3. Nope
I forgot another outcome that others mentioned, being referred to other teams at MS. Depending on the HM for these other teams, they can opt to wave a interview loop and instead meet with you directly to form their own impressions with your previous loops’ feedback. I knew a vendor who got #2 from two completed loops and ended up getting an offer after another team’s HM reached out and chatted with them. Working with an internal/FTE recruiter is the best shot at this scenario, as pending on your loop’s HM’s feedback to the recruiter, the recruiter may opt to share your application and loop feedback to other HMs. Most contract/vendor recruiters at MS are only concerned with filling the roles that are their responsibility. A recruiter who is also an FTE will try harder to get good candidates into the company, via any team as this is their main responsibility.
You work at Mindtree? No chance.
Either he has done enough leetcode and has brains or the low bar interviews that Microsoft is conducting these days
People like you don’t deserve to be in ms at all .. learn some manners first
At Microsoft, often 3 (sometimes more) candidates compete for the same position. If someone else does better, you won’t get the offer. If you did the best, and HM decides you were good enough, you will get the offer.
Thanks this was helpful !
Depends on how many positions are open too. We at times have hired three because all 3 were good, referred a few to other teams etc. So totally depends
Since you have done 3 really good, and if it is really true, the 3 interviewers will fight for you and convince HM
As others have stated, yes. I was in your same situation once and was referred to another team and hired.
Hiring manager interview has a lot of weight at Microsoft because hiring is done on per team basis. If all others were very good then I am sure you have a chance. You may have a follow up call with the hiring manager.
How to have the follow up call ?
