Is "From the River to the Sea" So Wrong?
More successful products (less killed ones) Better stock performance lately is paying comparable (if not more) has diverse successful products not just ads (windows/office/Azure/xbox/etc) No downleveling the only downside is refreshers which don't matter that much if u leave before cliff anyway
Its an opinion. Why does anyone care to change yours?
Microsoft pays 🥜
if u get level 63 at msft u will get L4 at Google and you will end up with 20% more TC in msft you need to consider all factors
Average L4 at Google will beat average L63 comp over 4 years when taking refresher into account.
Well Google is definitely not the same as it used to be. Particularly because of lowball attitude. But Microsoft has been infamously doing it for ages. There are numerous other parameters where MS is no where in frame. Google is just 'sour grapes' for OP.
other parameters like what?
Well let's start with much better pay (even after lowball) and perks. PS: MS offered me 40% less (L62) than G (L4). MS offer exceeded my current TC by 5%. So in terms of pay, they're no better than Amazon, if not worse (which seems more likely).
It’s okay to fail google interviews
before you get more "clever" I have a Google offer right now and this was my thought process. so I wanted to know what people think
Lol. Stupid comment.
How about the fact that average google engineer is much smarter and in the end you still learn a lot more
Stop kidding yourself.
Worked at both, people are better to work with due to culture and maybe higher bar interviews.
Msft 🎉
If you get the level you asked for easily in MS that means you deserve 1 level above the asking
More successful products?? They lost the mobile os battle MULTIPLE times, starting with WinCE back in the 90s. Multiple acquisitions/ ventures to compete in several areas that just flopped over and over (Skype, Zune, Danger, etc.) and the number of Azure "customers" includes O365 subscriptions so they're way behind in cloud services. All that said, it's way better culture under Satya Nadella than all previous leaders, and they're more focused on delivery than they have been in years. Take the lower pay and be happier.
still Google killed way more
Bing
I think Google interviews are still harder to clear overall, for whatever that’s worth
that's a bigger downside
Based on many recent posts on Blind, it seems like some teams at Google are bullying applicants. “Yeah. We won’t match. Like it or not? Someone else will accept. Because we have free food 🤡”
Once people start rejecting the lowballed offers then the show will change.
Yes they can bully because people act despo to join at any shit offer
