Any insider comment? :D Edit: I think people are too sensitive about the emoticon :D here. It means I am curious and feel mildly embarrassed asking it. Why in the f does it mean I feel joy in people laying off?
Despite the constant negative press covfefe
This is now a yearly thing at exactly this time (after end of FY). No surprises here. The Microsoft forum has been predicting this for many weeks.
no more firing, stack ranking is over, just lay offs
It is not over
I need to be out of MSFT by the end of this year. I didn't get H1B and it looks like PERM may be postponed for another 6 months due to layoff. I hate traveling on TN and crossing the border everytime.
TN? Also, why didn't you get H-1B?
you know there is this thing called lottery. some people I know are going back because they were just thrice unlucky
OP, why the :D ? People might lose jobs and you are smiling?
This community is full of deeply wounded sociopaths who view themselves as victimized prodigies. Not all of them, but waaay more than you ever find in real life. An anonymous hate and spite outlet is like a flame to moths. Every time I'm appalled by something I read here, I remind myself of that. It makes me feel just a little better.
It's probably the "if everyone has a million dollars no one is a millionaire" thing. Everyone thought they were special but then they see this whole bunch of really smart people, earning the same or more than them. They don't feel special anymore. Or maybe I'm just projecting. :D
Again? What product?
Microsoft lays off on a quorterly basis, but then after the FY is over Satya and the rest of the incompetent gang (aka seniour leadership) do a huge round once more. This is Microsoft's version of the hunger games.BTW, dont look for any rational or buisiness justifications. At Microsoft there are none, besides the obvious- the ship is sinking.
entire sales org was restructured today. every role impacted.
This is not so much about a layoff. About the same number will be employed at the end. What it is about is changing how we engage with businesses. It's also about more resources driving adoption/usage of our products and fewer in traditional sales role.
the :D at the end of your question bothers me
