Interviewed with Microsoft Hyd a while back and got a verbal offer. They wouldn't extend the offer and let me know the MS level either until I shared my current payslip even though I didn't want to do that. My ask to them was to extend the offer based on the level they decided as part of debrief. But they were adamant and I had to share all my current salary details with them. Finally Got an offer however the level was lower than my current one! And the reason given was that they can't give a hike beyond a certain point based on current salary! For reasons of confidentially can't give more details. Is this how levelling is done at MSFT? This is serious lowballing. Edit: Finally got the right level. They arranged for further interviews and up-leveled me after that.
Should have never shared current salary details
I tried that for a few days but they wouldn't relent.
Asking for a payslip too? I guess they caught on to the TC bluff game that blinders are playing.
Depending on what state youāre in, thatās illegal. In many states, employers canāt ask for salary history
It appears as if this is in India and it isnāt illegal there :(
What is your current TC
Msft isj higher bar than amzn.. you should be grateful to get hired
Lol
šššš thatās some serious cool aid your drinking friend It aināt the 90s no more
So just turn it down because they are downgrading you.
No bar for right candidate. Just signed L64 offer for a 7 yoe person. Recruiter may have asked the current compensation and adjusted the offer. From my side it was always L64 and with comp ratio not less then 0.9
Cool. Is it for Hyderabad and did you share payslip.
Yes Hyderabad. And you may want to read my answer again.
I would have straight up declined the moment they asked a payslip Itās not like a competing offer or something. Put the pressure on the recruiter, and if he said no - reply to him and cc hiring manager. That said I doubt they changed the leveling.
Funny thing is recruiter sends email without cc'ing hiring manager or anyone else! So don't know mailid
Wtf paystub? I would just say that they should give me an offer purely based on my interview performance and my skill set, not based on my past salary figures.
@kLei01 same thing happened with me for IDC Hyderabad.
I understand your pain. Ask your recruiter why it is not the next level
Ok. For confidentiality reasons, I can't give more details.
