I have attended onsite interview 3 weeks back and feedback was positive. Recruiter talked to me about the compensation details and agreed upon what he said. Yoe 13 185/50/200k I was waiting for offer letter for almost a week, finally he came back and said HM doesn't want to go with this big expensive offer, he is planning to interview more candidates and then take decision. Have anyone faced these kind of issues?
What was the level that was offered to you?
L63
Yes, that offer is too high for L63. Non-new hire L65 make that on average, and some top performing L64 - they worked their asses off to get there. The recruiter or manager likely couldn’t get the approval for the offer and had to rescind.
I see, infant I don't even know what is the compensation for each and every level. He is the one who suggested me
Dm me details. I will report this
That's way too high for level 63 so it makes sense that they don't want to give that. Can't believe the recruiter gave you that
Recruiter said this is the max he can go for l63.
Recruiter likely screwed up. Max does not mean possible. Recruiter may have seen data that someone got that max offer (could be some tech prodigy with specialized skillset) but did not realize that the team did not have budget to give that max offer. Recruiter should not have shared the max target offer until it was actually approved. Rookie mistake.
Same thing happened to me, recruiter agreed upon numbers, then came back saying it’s rejected by upper level for being too high, and gave me a much lower number instead. Walked away. It was 61, can’t recall the exact numbers as it’s been a while
Base is high, rest of the offer is meh
Average offer for 13 YOE. Walk away. If they think this is very expensive imagine what your increments and refreshers will be.
Agreed
I haven’t heard anything like this. This is very unprofessional of Microsoft to deal in this manner. Shoot for more interviews, and all the best 👍
