Microsoft senior software engineer position interview process
I contacted a manager for Software engineer 2 position at Microsoft. He told me that the position is closed but there is Senior Software engineer position for which I could be eligible. Can anyone tell me how the interview differ for the Swe 2 and senior software engineer role at Microsoft. I have done leetcode around 300 probelms and Alex xu book for system design. What else should I prepare for senior role?? I have 4 years of experience as a Software developer with focus on Full Stack, Backend and Cloud Engineering. Wow with just 4 yrs you are eligible for senior software at Microsoft. I was given L60 and negotiated to L61 with same experience. I tried hard negotiating L62 a lot.
I was given l61 with the same exp. and my understanding was -> any experience out of US isn’t considered much.
depends on what the interviewer thinks. your actual experience is not the main deciding factor.
Go for it. You should be fine.
