Given everything, salary, prestige, career, tech which is better?
I’ve worked at both, and for me, Google wins by a mile. TBF, tech at Microsoft is better. I haven’t written code in years, so my day to day isn’t directly impacted by these things. If I was still writing code, life in MSFT would be more pleasant. Using open source is easier. The bug tracking, build and release tooling (ADO) are all modern and usable. Google’s equivalent tooling is ancient and horrendous. MSFT’s legal/privacy/security reviews are more reasonable - optimized for meeting customer need, not minimizing risk at any cost. I happen to be working on an early phase product in Cloud that uses almost none of Google’s internal infra and isn’t in the monorepo that the majority of the company uses. So it’s possible to be in Google and not directly subject to all of its tech island issues. Anyway, early in career, MSFT is better. More transferable skill building. Faster pace (org-dependent, but still). Later in career, Google. Pay is better. Pace is slower. And the skills and intuition built outside Google make you a unicorn inside it. Many senior leaders at Google have been here their entire careers, so odds are that your ideas from outside will make you stand out.
Google internal tooling is awesome. I have been outside and I've spent days debugging Maven / VSCode stupid bugs. In Google, all you've to do is write code. As simple as that! You obviously haven't coded in the recent times, so your opinion doesn't count
Google’s tooling is top notch. Worked at both msft and google
Salary isn't even comparable bro
comparing microsoft with Google. lmao. microsoft is the cheapest in all tech, leave alone top tier like Google. A microsoft VP's refreshers are probably less than those of a new grad software engineer at Google
Come on now, VP (L70) target refresher is $750K. Also Meta is easily a tier or more above Google.
Not many people join MSFT from Google but you see a lot the other way around and there is a good reason for that since stock refresher, pay and everything at Google is better. The hiring bar at Google is also higher.

Question about women in their 30’s?
Msft refreshers are horrible + Nutella is actively trying to suppress bonuses despite a record year. Over the long run it is impossible for a Msft employee to compete with a Google employee
