Hi, I am currently pursuing my Masters and have 2YOE in India. I got internship at VMware for this summer and my manager is positive about my offer. I might expect one till my end of my internship. My actual graduation date is in May 2023. But, I have an option to get graduated in December this year as well. I have two questions: 1. Based on my experience and education, which role do you think will they be offering me ? how much TC I can expect ? And if they offer me something ? How much I need to negotiate for ? 2. Once I get the offer, should I try for other companies ? When is the ideal time for me to graduate based on the current market situation ? Please give me some suggestions.
Any idea whether they will inform during the last week or after the internship period? I’m a VMware intern too with same background. Please DM
Not sure exactly. But he just gave a feedback in my 3rd week from the last. He told me that he will be sharing the updates with me.
Same here. What’s your take on bcom acquisition? I think you need to think about that as well to decide on the graduation
If you can graduate early why wouldn't you?
Little worried about the broadcom acquisition. What if they rescind suddenly and I get graduated ?
Get the offer and come back here. Till then leetcode
Depends, which bu and what’s do you work on?
CIBG and backend work
I would try to interview and get offers using VMware future offer as leverage to get higher TC and 10/10 aim to not stay at VMware with the uncertainty and problems to come with the Acquisition
not with broadcom looming
I would advise not to settle for VMware as no one knows how many layoffs will happen after Broadcom acquisition. You are better off interviewing with other companies and getting another offer. Always negotiate reasonably on the first offer any company makes. I have made this mistake early on in my career.
Just take the job and be happy. check levels.fyi for TC . Flirt around with other compnies but macro market looks like that's going to be harder this year
Ok. What about the graduation
