I was a millionaire at age 31 I got it through mutual funds and real-estate. I bought a house in 2010 (not in the Bay Area) and sold it 9 years later for double its value. My biggest recommendation is minimize credit usage as much as possible. A dollar paid in interest is a dollar you could have invested. I am in my mid 30s. My TC when I first reacted $1 million was $135k My plan is to work on passion projects.
Amazing. Thank you for sharing and reminding us all the power of investing. I'm only really just beginning to level up when it comes to compensation (I was doing this before, but not to the extent that I'm committed to it now with Blind).
1st million at 33; currently worth $4m at 41. First job was $30k/yr, now at $400k with fairly constant annual increases (changed companies 7 times). Biggest recommendation; never sell any assets you acquire (RE, stocks, etc). I sold some vested RSUs to pay off rental property mortgage and missed out on 20+% stock market appreciation. Last item, while your net worth may be big you won’t ‘feel’ rich until your taxable brokerage account is a million by itself. Primary residence, 401k/IRAs are nice but aren’t accessible.p
