I joined in May 2022. Before that I spent a year at a bank, and before that I got a non-CS STEM PhD. If I leave before May 2023 I’ll have to pay back a prorated portion of my signing bonus. Managers, TL, everyone has been giving me great feedback and taking about EE/GE and the goal of promoting to E5 after 2023. I’m worried that if I leave before / right after promo then I won’t get senior-level offers, but if I stay my TC is terrible. I’m also worried about too many short stints on my resume. US citizen so no visa issues, if that matters to your vote TC at grant price 272k, 225k now 😭 Additional 75k signing not counted in TC 1.5 YoE + PhD
stay forever to build the metaverse
Metaverse makes the stock go down so it sucks
Zuck is that you?
Even if you get promoted to E5 you might find it hard to get senior offers elsewhere due to low YOE. Maybe your PhD will help, maybe not.
I don't think getting a senior offer after e5 is any problem. Even before that you could get it if you negotiate well.
Dude 1.5 YOE, you are not close to getting senior offers. Only Meta does the super fast promotions.
H1B or merican?
American citizen, good Q I’ll add the context
Once it seems like stocks have bottomed it makes sense to switch. Calling the bottom is impossible (but I’ll say that we aren’t there yet).
Nope, like I said impossible to call the bottom
