Ever hear someone complain about a “right” being violated, but it’s not really an actual right by law? I just had a coworker declare that misrepresentation of goods or services (the manufacturing of counterfeit luxury items) was protected by freedom of speech. Tell your story!
Many people believe that their mere existence bestows a duty upon others, to work for them and provide them things. They call those duties "rights".
You mean like selling Channel, Luis Vuitton or Guchi bags?
I was just giving an example. But in that instance, wouldn’t copyright laws prohibit the sale of the unlicensed goods, too? I understand they’re imported, and US law can’t do anything about the manufacture.
Selling Guess bags is legal apparently. It’s trademark and possibly design patent law, not copyright law btw.
