Please help with monitor selection. I am in tech and sitting in front of computer all day, so wanted to make an upgrade of the current setup. Requests * Average everyday performance, use for coding, reading/eBook/documents, Netflixing/YouTubing. I don’t play games. * Goal: Good and easy on eye, because I have terrible eyesight. * A monitor that can last for the next 3-5 years. USB - c connection * 27-32 inch Some options I have been eyeing at are * LG 27UL850-W: https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27UL850-W-4k-uhd-led-monitor/reviews * Dell S2722QC: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-27-4k-uhd-usb-c-monitor-s2722qc/apd/210-BBQT/monitors-monitor-accessories * BenQ EW2880U: https://www.benq.com/en-us/monitor/entertainment/ew2880u.html#icon All 3 have similar specs and usb-c. Looks like LG and Dell is similar, but LG looks like have a reader mode? Is this reader mode something justified $100 more or Dell has something similar to offer? BenQ has a lot of focus on EyeCare with various low blue light mode, is this really worth it or more of marketing strategy, b/c I have heard of a mixed review? Please help a fellow out:) Always welcome other suggestions as well.
Go for dell with Usb-c port. It will be useful with latest laptops which support usb-c charging and display using same cable.
Yea, all three of them have usb-c, except BenQ doesn’t have USB ports
Why just these three? I find curved Dell monitors are great. Depending on the budget choose 29,34 or 38" model. They are not 4k but for coding it is the same
Any rec? I’m trying to do 27-32 inch with ideally <$500ish
I used to have an earlier model of this series and it was amazing https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-ultrasharp-34-curved-usb-c-hub-monitor-u3421we/apd/210-axqs/monitors-monitor-accessories Also this was good, but is an old model now https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-29-ultrasharp-monitor-u2917w/apd/210-aiyt/monitors-monitor-accessories I would try to catch a similar one on sale. There is a cheaper gaming version, but I am not too sure what the difference is https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-34-curved-gaming-monitor-s3422dwg/apd/210-AZEP/monitors-monitor-accessories
I really love the Dell Ultrasharp line. I got the 27 inch in 1440p and am very pleased.
I’ve bought LG below the list price (around 400). It’s good but not great, especially when using over USB-C. I haven’t used this specific Dell model, but I think Dell is better based on my previous experience.
I got a Dell U2722D and am very happy with it. I got it on a super sale for ~250.
