Monthly coaching at Amazon

I received an inquiry from Amazon. The hiring manager mentioned “monthly coaching” on top of the annual performance review. Are these coaching sessions the hidden performance reviews with the ratings? I have 15 years of experience and do not mind regular feedback but these mandatory monthly coaching sessions seem very PIP-able. I can be wrong though Your feedback is very valuable and much appreciated

Its not normal to have this kind of a conversation before you join the team. Btw, I am getting my pip document next week. So trust me, I've been through it enough

Focus would be weekly coaching. But that vocabulary raises concerns since if you are not on "TT" or exceeds the bar, then you need to pay close attention to these sessions and what's demanded. there could be 2 to 3 people on your team with this and your manager will just select the one to go into pivot as he would already have evidence to skip focus if push comes to shove.
