Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
Hi I got a good offer from Morgan Stanley for a position as a Software Engineer. Offering 140k base + annual bonus. Should I take it? Current TC: 100k 🥜 YOE: 3 #tech #offereval #morganstanley
Location?
Atlanta
For Atlanta it’s good pay
From my experience, most teams use outdated tech and are not great for SWE growth. They do offer decent benefits, WLB and culture.
Hey do you know anything about GBT?
What does GBT stands for?
Take it. 40k more than you’re making now. If you get another better offer than accept that one
At 3 yoe, u should look for more challenging work and I doubt if morgan stanley can provide you that. Look for pure tech/product companies as investment banks are going to become a thing of past soon.
100% agree with you. But, I’m currently in a team where the work is very monotone and I honestly just need a change from it. So I thought fintech might be a good choice. Plus my current TC is 🥜 and I’m having to cover for other peoples work lol
Why would investment banks become a thing of the past?
Aren't they giving fixed annual bonus for first year?
It wasn't mentioned in my offer letter. Recruiter said that bonuses are usually around 10% - 15% based on performance. Is that correct?
I actually know a ton of people in GBT - dm me if you want to ask specific questions
3 yrs it’s great MS salary.

Depends, YOE?
YOE: 3
While $140K is lower than you'd expect for 3 YOE in Atlanta area, doesn't hurt to negotiate for higher. It's good to have more base salary, but don't let that be the only determining factor. Everyone on Blind is TC hungry. If Morgan Stanley work is more fulfilling, more rewarding, and balanced between pay and play, jump on it. If not, don't be afraid to turn offers down if they don't align with your career goal. You know your situation better than anyone.
